Save A Life Sunday is a movement co-started by me, clarknokent, medusas-heir, and bonitaapplebelle to give our followers information that can literally Save A Life. We ask our followers and friends on Black Tumblr, allies and all create the tag #SaveALifeSunday.
Why?
Because the reality is that most young people are living on streched incomes, especially if you are in school. Every penny counts. Young people are also facing new stressors (unemployment, depression,etc.) every day. This movement is to provide a day of services/information that may ease someone’s life.
What will we be blogging?
1. Low-cost food/recipes/ideas and nutrition information
2. Sales/Discounts available at stores. Giving details when and where.
3. Self-care information for depression, anxiety. This includes physical locations people can go (free community counseling services/etc)
4. Information about applying for welfare/support. Legal advice resources.
5. Jobs from your local area you have heard about.
6. Information for students (scholarships/funding opportunities, advice/assistance websites for classwork and research)
7. Much more.
Save A Life Sunday is about taking care of our community — and to stop all inquiries NO you don’t have to be black to participate/use the information, but some of the information will be geared towards the black community.
