Drones are responsible for massive amounts of death and destruction leaving irreparable harm on entire villages, cities, and nations. So there’s something absolutely disgusting seeing academics theorizing about the erotic gaze of drones or developing entire research interests around drones that don’t even gesture towards the material realities of the millions of people being subjected to drone violence and surveillance.
