What is your opinion of the Syriza-ANEL coalition? I can't tell if your last comment is serious or not...

I mean don’t get me wrong, it’s not a positive thing, but anarchists are pretending that Independent Greeks was SYRIZA’s first choice to form a coalition government with because SYRIZA agrees with them on principle. In fact, the whole reason SYRIZA chose Independent Greeks to collude with is because they were the only party who was willing to enter into a coalition without forcing SYRIZA to compromise its principles - which the two more predictable potential coalition partners (KKE and PASOK) said they would not do.

my full answer is here.

doesn’t really matter about their ~personal preferences~ in who’s their partner, this is just another example of why parliamentarism sucks ass

but again, if SYRIZA was able to reverse several years of austerity within the first week of being elected despite colluding with ANEL, why does their coalition partner matter if they can still function with them in the coalition? why is their nominal coalition with ANEL negative enough to overshadow SYRIZA’s material accomplishments? like i said, the focus on their coalition partner is just a cheap “get out of jail free” card anarchists are using to move the goal-post from “getting elected to raise the material standard of living of the working class” to “getting elected to be as ideologically pure as possible”
